Till her 8th years into her acting career, Son Yejin doesn't have many good friend in the entertainment circle. During a recent interview she blames it on her soft-spoken and shy character. Making her "unapproachable" , therefore she did not made any good friends with any celebrities that she had worked with before. It is known that she is not good at expressing her own feelings and often gave people a wrong impression. Often after 3 hours of filming , then fellows crew will be able to feel her passion , warm and friendly side.

Starting April this year, Son Yejin will be the model for Pocari Sweat again. It is said that last year commercial recieve good response. So they decided to use her again this year.

After the movie "My wife getting married", Son Yejin is said to be participating in a drama series "Spotlight".That means Yejin had to continue the shooting of the drama immediately after the movie. However after reading through the script, she decided to act in this drama as the role is fresh and challenging. The movie is mainly about the life and work of a political reporter, binded with the passion of work and dilemma of truth reporting.

"Open City" with a box office of 1.5 million viewers till date will have a 16 episode drama version. Cast yet to be confimed.

Let welcome the new year with a recap on the event that happened for the past one year.

At the beginning of the year, Son Yejin was crowned the "2007 Best Lead Actress Award" on the Award Ceremony co-organised by SBS & KBS for her role Eun-Ho in "Alone in Love".

Soon after that she bagged the "2006 Most Popular Commercial Model", presented on the "2006 Korean Model Award Ceremony" held in 2007, she was chosen for her cheerful and healthy image on major commercial. Most probably the reason why she is well-liked by everyone.

Mid of 2007 Son Yejin won another big award, which is the "43rd Paek Sang Arts Best Acting Award". Son Yejin has not been an unfamiliar face on the Paek Sang Arts Award as she had won the best newcomer award earlier in 2003.

Things to expect in this coming year ...

Said to be her most sensational work, "Open City" will be screened on Jan 2008.
Tattoos , Cigarette, Sexy Tights, Guns, Criminal Organization ... the most expected film so far.

2 season 48 episode series "Agent Zero" featuring Son Yejin & Sol Kyung Gu, a detective crime story. "Agent Zero" will only be broadcast upon filming completion. So expectation will be near the end of first quarter 2008.

If nothing went wrong, the filming of "My Wife is Married" will start in 2008. Son Yejin and Kim Joo Hyuk previously selected for a spy film based in the 30s 40s
the filming of the movie which failed to happen due to budget constrain. With this they will get to act along side once contract is signed.

What surprises will we get from Yejin yet again in 2008, let us be expectant.

Open City trailer shows Son Yejin with a sexy tattoo on her back waist seducing the male character. Before the release of the trailer no words were made on the tattoo, this surprise scene definitely heighten the fans keenness for the movie . Her appearance changes made this a highly anticipated movie. This movie will be screening in Korea on 10 Jan 2008.

According to iplus Son Yejin will be costarring in a movie with Kim Joo Hyuk,
[妻子結婚了 ] literally translation "My Wife is Married" based on a Korean Novel about a woman who wished to remarry and the husband unwillingly have to swallow all these psychologically.

Kim and Son were previously selected as the main lead characters of another movie [ 樂浪俱樂部 ] which failed to start filming due to budget problems. Now they will get a chance to act along side in this movie, which will start filming in January once contract is signed.

"This is the first time Im worried about audience reception of my character in the movie."

Son Yejin revealed during an interview on the movie "Open City". Even though fans are expectant about her image changes, she mention that this is what worries her most.

It was said that Baek Jang Mi had a strong character be it her appearance or the manner she speak, it will be different for whatever she had acted before.

During a bed scene, the director requested both actor and actress to get more intimate , however Son Yejin's reaction created laughter among the camera crew. Whenever the bed scene is mentioned , her face will become red with embarrassment.

The promotion poster for "Open city" was released, Kim Myung Min and Son Ye Jin portraying their in-movie character. Kim Myung Min in a cool detective coat. Son Ye Jin looks wild and dangerous. Both the leading actor and actress are praised being professional for the film had been 30% completed.

It was said that Son Ye Jin did not graduate from Seoul Institute of Arts, Apparently some media maligned Yejin and co of hiding the fact. Clarification had been made, in year 2000 Yejin was forced to stop her studies due to heavy acting schedule. Since then her acting and commercial came non-stop due to her rising popularity, she was unable to return to the university, whom had no choice but to remove her name according to the uni's rule.

Son Yejin's particulars had been published on the major korean website since her fame, but she did not personally mentioned that she graduated from Seoul Institute of Arts. The information on the website are not provided by her nor her agent.

SYJTracker had made necessary changes to the our data. However we did not feel that this news concern us and other SYJ's fan club and fans all over the world. We admire Son Yejin not because of the fact that she graduated from Seoul Institute, what she is today is not due to the fact either.

The estimated 60 billion won movie "Open City" starring Kim Myung Min & Son Ye Jin started their initial filming since 31 July this year. Kim commented "Since today is the first day of shooting, been excited since morning. This is the first time i have a good feeling this work will turn out good."

Through impressive action and highly detailed crime making it a high quality korean action movie. Estimated to be on screen in December 2007.

Son Yejin was said had been preparing hard for her role as Baek Jang Mi (白玫瑰). As translated from the source, it is said that to make her role more realistic she is learning to pickpocket or rather some basic moves. The production company mentioned that after Kim, they are glad to be able to get hold of a big cast like Son. They are confident to make this "action" and "tragic love story" movie more realistic.

During an interview, the company that produced Son Yejin's "Art of Seduction" reveal that they had decided to present the sequel to "Art of Seduction", cast has not been confirm. "Art of Seduction" became a talk of the industry when it hit 100 million viewership within a week of screening.

Some recent news...

The 43th Paek Sang Arts Award. Son Yejin is nominated for Best Acting Award. Her recent work "Alone in Love" is also being nominated for a Drama Award. The Award ceremony will be held on 25th April 2007.

Son Yejin will be appearing in Pocari Sweat Commercial again. This time the shooting of commercial was done at Namyangju in Korea. Recalling the last Pocari Commercial Yejin did, her gorgeous and ravishing performance aided by the aesthetic scenery of the greek island left deep impression on the viewers. According to the official, Yejin was choosen once again to model the commercial as she is able to magnify the effect of the commercial.

I reckon that it will take some time for me to change the layout, sorry to keep you waiting here is a summary of some of the recent news.

On Jan 19 6pm Yejin attended "2006 Korean Model Award Ceremony" at JW Marroitt. She was awarded the "Most Popular Commercial Model" award. Yejin had a lot of appearance on commercials in the year 2006, most of it has a cheerful and healthy image, the reason why she is well-liked by everyone.
"To be chosen among 3000 model, this is an award with special meaning."
During an interview on the same day, she mentioned that fluffy loose clothing doesn't suit her, rather she prefers body fitting type. When asked "Is it because you have a nice figure? ". She replied that because she is short.

A recent check upon the Ohui website and found this new ad of Son Ye Jin. (Note: this news is backdated, current ohui main page is featuring Rain's ad)

樂浪俱樂部 , the new movie that Son Yejin is said to be playing a role of a spy. Although the cast are still not confirm, Yejin is busy learning english for the role. The plot of the movie is about the love story and experience of a female spy in 1950s Korea.

A good news for Yejin and the "Yeu Woo Bi" 's crew as the viewer-ship broke 420,000 in korea.

Son Yejin rekindles her old partnership Cho Seung Woo in the 百歲酒 Baekseju commercial.

The commercial is about 2 lover drinking wine together and acting happy in front of each other, just to allow the other part to be happy. Although it is their 2nd partnership after 4 years, they still click as usual and both of them appears to be more mature as well as charming. It is said that this commercial had 12 version. During an interview on the initial screening of Yeu Woo Bi, Son Ye Jin stated that she wishes to take on some role that features love between women, friends love , yes it sounds like she like to take on the L3sb0s role. Below is the source from Sina news.

It is also mentioned that she is shooting some drama or movie in march, the plot is dated during the 30s or 40s, Doesnt sound like Agent Zero. Dunno how true it is. We will know when times come.

Yejin loves to eat
To capture the heart of Son Ye-jin, you have to first capture her taste bud. Son Ye-jin loves to eat and has a big appetite, despite her having a much sought after figure. Even during tight schedule, time will be squeezed out for feasting.

She wish that her other half to be a cook, preparing different delicacies daily for her. She revealed that he must not only tolerate her irregular lifestyle, he must be good in cooking especially her favorite food, Korean mixed rice.

"Eating is the most important matters in my life. You have to eat sufficiently to have a good health," She laughed saying. During her shooting of "Summer Scent" where she played a sick girl with a weak heart. To make her character more real, she intentionally skipped meal so that she will look more pale. That experience of weakness is a terrible ordeal for her.

After the screening of "The Art of Seduction", there are many talks online and more people are beginning to wonder about Son Ye-jin's characters off screen. Ye-jin's family members also have something to say. "After watching the movie, my mom glanced at me and said that is irritating." She mentioned that she was soft-spoken and dull back home, always lock herself up in her room and seldom chat with her family members. Her mother however was shocked when she saw her daughter flying here and there in the movie.

In response to her character in the movie, she replied that every roles she played before reflect a little about her actual characters. She thanked everyone that was shocked by her 180 degree changes in her screen character. "Being an actress and able to present different acting every-time, surprised the audience and was well received, there is nothing else i can ask for."

Son Ye Jin posed for unfortunate baby at the photo exhibition "Letter from Angels 4" organized by photographer Cho Se-hon and Social Welfare Society (SWS) to help children without families. The exhibition has been held since 2003 to help children living in social facilities find a new home and lead a healthy life. Carrying the baby in her arms, Son Ye Jin being seen here radiating her motherly affections. Before the photography shooting, Son Ye Jin expressed that she was nervous as she had no experience looking after babies. The baby looks happy here but ended up peeing on the celebrities. The exhibition will be held at the Insa Art Center in Seoul from Dec. 20 until 26. Other participating stars include Rain, Kim Jung-eun, Kim Hye-soo and SG Wannabe.

Son Yejin plays as a housewife in a recent furniture commercial. Now it is said that she had signed a 2 year contract with an electrical appliances company to endose their products. Spokesman for the company said that if the previous actress gave consumer a reliable impression, then Son Yejin will give the product a fresh and creative image.
Regardless to the cold weather and good working attitude won praises for Son Yejin from the working staff.

至今還是單身的孫藝珍在不久前接拍了廚具廣告，在廣告中扮演一個家庭主婦。據悉孫藝珍與韓國某家電商場簽訂了為期2年的代言協議，將從下個月開始作為該品牌的代言人進行活動。該家電商場之前曾經請金熙愛擔任過品牌代言人，對於這次請孫藝珍做代言，該商場負責人表示“如果說金熙愛給消費者的感覺是對產品的信賴的話，那麼孫藝珍給消費者的感覺就是新鮮與創新。” 據悉孫藝珍在拍攝廣告時，不顧嚴寒認真工作的態度受到了全體工作人員的贊賞。

Son Yejin's agent denied that she will be participating in the movie 198 pages. It was said that they did not recieve any script and Yejin will be busy with the drama Agent Zero.

More news on Agent Zero. Agent Zero will only be aired when all the episode are completed. Shooting will continue from this month till july 2007. So fans wont be expecting this drama till then. New cast confirm for Agent Zero, Ha Ri-Su (河利秀) and Park Yong-woo (朴勇宇). Park will be familiar to many Yejin's fans, as he partnered Yejin in the drama Jin-Hee & Sun-Hee and the hilarious guy that keep pestering her in The Art of Seduction.

In a recent china film award ceremony [ 金雞百花電影節 ] , Son Yejin were awarded the viewers' choice most popular artiste for A Moment to Remember [ 我腦中的橡皮擦 ]. On A Moment to Remember, during an interview when actor Jung Woo-Sung (鄭宇成) was asked of his working with different actress :

Jung Woo-Sung : " Jeon Ji-Hyun (全智賢) is very confident in front of the camera, she is very hardworking and natural in her acting. Son Ye-jin (孫藝珍) is a very able and flexible actress, It looks like she can take on a wide range of roles of different characteristics and is able to blend into the charactors very well. Im Soo-Jung (林秀晶) acted as my lover, however the feeling she gave me was like my sister."

In a recent online poll "The most beautiful bride". Son Ye-jin [13692 votes] came in second after Sung Yu-ri (成宥利) member of FinKL [15361 votes]. Third highest vote goes to Song Hye Kyo (宋慧喬) with 10143 votes.
